A LOOK BACK
The Old Man
The old man came out of hiding
And slowly bowed his head.
He knew if his pen remained lifeless,
He too would soon be dead.
He knew his words would be muffled
By the world’s luring band,
So in silence he would listen
And then loudly make his stand.
I am afraid to hide - so here it goes!
This article is an attempt to make rhyme or reason as to where we are headed and how we arrived at wherever we are. One thing is for certain; the milieu of this country has taken on a life of its own, but is it a life worth living?
My efforts to determine the direction we are headed as a nation was met with a lot of struggles. I almost experienced a mental break-down. Not a mental breakdown in the traditional sense, although my wife might argue the point, but a breakdown in disturbing and contrasting thoughts. It was comparable to a seizure exploding in my brain – it would rock back and forth like Jello, but with an explosive nature. Thoughts would come, I would sense the presence of the Lord and then I would experience a mental and spiritual block. I think I have enough discernment to make me and everyone around me miserable.
One thing is for certain. We are living in a time of awe. We as a society have been homesteading a poorly contracted house on an epicenter! We are dining in a den of vipers! We are sleeping in a bed ridden with every deadly and infectious disease known to man, and for a nightcap we are consuming a "Jim Jones Mixture" of Kool-aid!
I graduated from high school in 1966. I should have graduated in 1965, but the fourth grade and I became such an item we stayed together for two years instead of just one. And if it hadn’t been for one stubborn high school football coach by the name of Tommy Smith, who went out of his way to keep me in school, my educational pursuits would have been short-lived. I thank God for Coach Smith and I didn’t even play sports. I still had to attend six additional weeks of summer school at the end of my senior year to finally receive my diploma.
The 60’s were memorable; perhaps not worth remembering, but memorable just the same. “Times They Are A-Changing” was more than a song - times really were changing. The times were sinful, turbulent, destructive, and rebellious, but what came out of that era was more than a movement; it was a syndrome. A spirit was birthed, or better stated awakened. It was indeed the sixties, my generation which helped lay the asphalt on the pernicious road we are traveling.
What was the catalyst that inspired that generation, my generation to live and breathe the escape-from-reason attitude? It was well-intentioned parents who produced spoiled and jaded children. What was meant to be gifts of generosity became a snare. With the help of Dr. Spock and other like-minded doctors and educators, a generation was formed that embraced the term “meism” before it became popular. This generation was spoiled, educated, (at least many went to college), and confused - very confused. They formed their own culture instead of being absorbed into the existing one. The sixties were just as violent as they were about so-called peace and love.
This mind-set and movement carried on for a number of years, but then it seemed to waver, and weaken. Much later in 1981, the inauguration of Ronald Reagan took place and a new wave of moral conservatives emerged on the political scene and it certainly appeared the radical movement was debunked, dead, yesterday’s news - but not so. Why? They grew up! The radicals of the sixties grew up, matured, and found a better way, or should a say a more sinister and craftier way. They became politicians! In addition they also became judges, teachers/professors and in general made their way into mainstream society spreading their venom into our country’s main institutions, i.e. the Church, the government, the educational system, and the family. They had changed their appearance but not their ideas. Hillary and Bill were the absolute personifications of that generation. Now we have Barrack Obama, a protégé of Bill Ayers who was a member of the sixties terrorist group the Weathermen.
The sixties are largely responsible for fueling a fire that won’t be quenched. They had their own arsenal and that arsenal was evil. I call them “Evil Weapons of Mass Destruction” (EWMD)
There were many EWMD but I want to touch on only three of them, and these three are still hitting and wounding their targets today.
1. Radical feminism.
2. Expelling God and prayer from the public schools and the public square.
3. The infatuation with Eastern and other false religions.
These three EWMD hit the Achilles heel of our nation by wounding two strategic pillars.
(1) The Family
(2) The Church
The enemy (satan) knew if he could not annihilate these two pillars, he could change them. He knew that if these two could be altered enough then our government would mutate with its economy, laws, educational system, military, etc., into the image of his own creation.
One of the most effective and most dangerious EWMD was the radical feminist movement. This movement, its agenda of role swapping, has done as much damage to the family and the Church as drugs have, but much more subtle.
The radical feminists enjoyed their roles as bellwethers and as little dictators. Today, the radical women’s movement is so mainstream; it’s just that - mainstream. Radical feminism has been a key weapon for satan to use to wound this country by trying to dismantle the family and the Church. The family and the Church were blind- sided by the radical feminist movement and it is still trying to dismantle the family and Church today - piece by piece.
Below is a quote from a radical feminist magazine that used the acronym for the National Organization of Women (NOW) declared on its cover.
“NOW is the time to take back control of our lives. NOW is the time to make reproductive freedom for wimmin of all classes, cultures, ages, and sexual orientation a reality. Now is not the time to assimilate to bureaucratic puppeteers who want to control, degrade, torture, kill, and rape our bodies. Now is the time to drop a boot heel in the groin of patriarchy. Now is the time to fight back, no god, no master, and no laws.”
“ Profane Existence” June 1992
Not badly written, but bad in its content, or should I say like the title of the magazine declares - profane. By the way, the word “wimmin”, which means women, is another slam at men. The feminists use it (“eye dialect”) to avoid using the sequence of letters “men“in the word women.
A home where the woman rules when the man is present is like standing in a canoe in roaring rapids. When the woman follows her Biblical role in the home it is like unto relaxing on a well-built ship traveling on still waters. Some may think my analogies do not hold water, but God has given the woman an immense amount of power. She is like a thermostat; she can basically control the atmosphere of the household. I am convinced one key clue of demonic involvement is found when a woman dominates the entire family.
What makes a woman rule and reign in the home when the husband is present? Pride! What makes her seek ordination in the Church? Pride!
It’s also weak-willed men!
I blame weak-willed men, both in the church and the family, for letting women usurp their roles as leaders. I blame men who did not love their wives as the Apostle Paul instructed them. I blame weak-willed men who danced to the drum beat of the feminist demented song and had neither the will nor the discernment to recognize the evil at hand. The first who should repent is the man for his lack of obedience.
I hope no one misconstrues what I am saying. I believe women are to be honored, adored, and protected, and above all loved! They should be provided for. They should also be listened to because God has given women great insight, but it’s listened to, not obeyed.
I am thankful for the giant leaps women have made over the last fifty years. There are more women in universities than men. Women have contributed greatly to medicine, literature, and education, to mention a few.
While the radical feminists were making their strident voices heard, a misguided and corrupt Supreme Court was handing down gross and perverse decisions as in 1962, when prayer and God basically were expelled from public schools. (Engel v. Vitale, 370 U.S. 421 (1962). This was just the beginning.
Today, schools have taken the politically correct, perverted football for the entire length of the field. Basically anything Christian is banned from most of our public schools.
I am greatly concerned about the Supreme Court. In 1987, the Senate not only failed to pass the confirmation of one of the smartest minds in judicial history, Judge Robert Bork, but tried to vilify him as well. We even have a word called “Borking”
But on August 5, 2010 the sick Senate had to outdo itself or should I say undo itself. They confirmed the nomination of Elena Kogan, who is one the most dangerous, and absolutely the least qualified, nominee in the history of the Supreme Court.
I will leave this for another article. It’s too much and too sick to comment on at this time!!
The courts are usurping the will of the people and they will play a key role in altering the defintion of the family and perhaps even the Church. it’s these defintions that will help to destroy us.
When the Bibical definition of the family and the Church is changed or is altered so is the nation.
The following is from a brother in Washington State, who receives our newsletter.
“Even in America the true church is becoming an underground reality as we are no longer welcome in many congregations which would rather please the world than God. In response to the threat of burning the Quran, I understand that many ministers across the country read and preached from it the next Sunday to show an imagined common ground with the gospel.”
It is not just what the EWMD have hit, but what they have produced. They have produced a politically correct and tolerant crowd with a two-sided brain - one side inane and the other pernicious. To make it simple I call it the “dangerously stupid brain”. (DSB). What does a dangerously stupid brain produce? Acceptance! We accept anything; generally the more strange and deviant the greater the acceptance. This gullible and pernicious society will implode, and then explode. This mind-set will bury us. Instead of my little acronym EWMD perhaps I should have said EWSD, meaning “evil weapons of self destruction.”
We accept and take for granted what we would have fought tooth and toenail over a few decades ago.
As I was finalizing this article Barack Obama was signing the repeal on the ban of “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” that has been in effect for seventeen years. Now homosexuals from both sexes can openly serve in our military. In addition the Senate is to ratify the nuclear the “START” program with Russia. These combined efforts may be the final blows in toppling our military.
The sixties were indeed a catalyst to usher in a wave of false religions. The “Om” or “Aum” generation, my generation, opened the door to the very pits of hell through its infatuation and love for an array of cults.
They began to fill dorm rooms, classrooms, coffee shops, head shops, and the minds of the youth. That helped pave the way to where we are today. The United States has more recognized religions than any other country. We accept basically any religion and embrace most or at least hold hands with them.
I remember working in the Autism program for the Denton Public School System and walking into the third grade classroom on September 11, 2001 and the teacher handing me a piece of paper. The grim details glared at me from the tiny white paper, it described the gruesome details of the attack by some Islamic extremists on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. For days after the attack I witnessed teachers openly crying in unbelief, sorrow, and anger. I doubt that very many schools would have a “Let’s pretend we are Muslim’s day”. For weeks after the attack Churches had special services and there were strong feelings of anger mixed with sorrow.
But today the milieu has changed.
Today, we have a new infatuation with an old false religion. It has made its way into our educational system, our government, and most dangerously, into our minds. It’s Islam. Many Americans are not only infatuated with it; they are in love with it, and at the same time held captive by it.
I believe I am not stretching the truth to suggest that many in the United States are victims of “Stockholm Syndrome”. I especially include the DSB crowd.
In psychology, Stockholm Syndrome is a term used to describe a paradoxical psychological phenomenon that occurs between the victim and the captor. When someone is taken hostage or is controlled by another he/she will form a strange but strong relationship with those in control.
The syndrome is named after the Norrmalmstorg robbery of Kreditbanken at Norrmalmstorg in Stockholm, in which the bank robbers held bank employees hostage from August 23-28, 1973. In this case, the victims became emotionally attached to their captors, and even defended them after they were freed from their six-day ordeal. This was the genesis of the term Stockholm Syndrome.
My point is the following. The Stockholm Syndrome is a real phenomenom. Captives do fall in love, so to speak, with their captors. I believe we have and are experiencing this today with radical Islam. The DSB crowd is generally comprised of good people. They want to give eveyone a hug, wish them well, say peace be upon you, and let eveybody do their own thing.
The DSB is also very pliable; that’s why its dangerous; it can be easily molded, even into the image of satan himself.
We better pray for discernment! It's time for the prudent and sagacious brains to prevail! Evil does lurk; it lurks in the minds of the corrupt politicians and those in power to do harm. They are succeeding. I call them “powersters”. Unless we see what egregious schemes the enemy is devising, we are not only going to be defeated, but help bring that defeat about. If we continue to travel this road of political correctness, we will be left with the offal of our fruitless labors, and our companions will be the very ones who are trying to destroy us. We have traveled a precarious and unsafe road far too long. Some are so blind they see only a primrose path; they do not realize they are sinking in a bottomless quagmire. Others are discouraged and question when will all this finally wind down. They see the family, the Church, and every thing they hold dear being destroyed. Still others have given up and accepted a life of defeat. They feel helpless, and are held captive by their own defeat. They spend their remaining years questioning how it all started. While the sixties did give a mighty shove to this giant snowball headed for hell it did not start then, it started a very long time ago in the Garden of Eden.
Questions and an Answer
Some look up and question why the moon has not turned red,
Why everything they hold sacred is dying or is dead; Hell has filled their homes, while their churches fall asleep,
Perversion in the pulpits,
The slaughter of the sheep.
Men look like women
And women look like men,
They sit alone and ponder
How it all began.
They’re locked inside their prison,
Begging for a pardon,
It happened a long time ago - in a garden.
I believe we need to seek another garden! It’s called Gethsemane. What the first Adam lost in the Garden of Eden, the second Adam, Yeshua (Jesus) won in Garden of Gethsemane. We must return if we are going to be victorious. We get there on our knees.
This author does not capitalize “satan.”
Now may the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob bless you through His Son Yeshua.
In His Service,
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem
