Blow a trumpet in Zion and sound an alarm on My Holy mountain!

Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble, for the day of the Lord is

Coming; surely it is near

LISTEN: THE SHOFAR IS BLOWING

What you are about to read will not be found in the average church bulletin. The next four pages contain some pressing information that I believe you must understand. There is no time to mince words. Either you are going to obey the LORD now or reap the terrifying consequences later. You are in a battle. This battle is more significant than the one our country is involved in with trying to root out terrorism. This battle is about whether you are going to serve the Lord or not. One of the most strategic things you can do in this battle is listen to the shofar, for it is blowing.

The shofar was one of God’s main methods in calling attention to something of the utmost importance. Our newsletter is called a Trumpet In The Wilderness. We could have named it "A Shofar In The Wilderness" for the word trumpet could be more accurately translated "shofar".

The first accounts of the shofar are found in Exodus 19:13.

We find the Children of Israel at the foot of Mount Sinai. Moses instructed the Children of Israel that they should come to the foot of the mountain to receive God’s Ten Commandments. In verses 16 and 19 we find the trumpet or the shofar mentioned again.

And it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightning, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people that was in the camp trembled.

And when the voice of the trumpet sounded long, and waxed louder and louder, Moses spake and God answered him by a voice.

I would like for us to pitch our spiritual tent on verse 19 of Exodus 19 and let these words ……the trumpet sounded long and waxed louder and louder as the theme of this message.

The Children of Israel were about to receive God’s Ten Commandments and the trumpet was sounding out a special announcement of extreme pre-eminence for all to hear. This was something monumental. A one time strategic event in God’s timetable. I submit to you today that the shofar of God is blowing a long and exceedingly urgent blast. Can you not hear it? Oh, hear what the shofar is saying.

Listen, listen! The trumpet of God is waxing louder than ever before. It’s a piercing and resounding sound calling the Church and all who will listen to come to attention. It’s calling the Church to listen and then obey. But why does the American Church choose deaf ears? Why are many in the Church tone deaf to the call to repent?

But That Is Not Repentance

I observed a dramatic increase in church attendance immediately following the aftermath of September 11th, 2001.

However, gathering in a building and praying for the victims of that September 11th tragedy, or praying that God will bless America doesn’t even touch the threshold of the door of repentance. Even feeling sorry and weeping over sins does not mean repentance. Repentance is often accompanied with tears, but tears alone is not repentance. Repentance is change, turning from the world to the cross. You begin to stop your sinning. We can’t live as we desire, with an appetite for the things of the world. We must have a hunger for God and His Word. Because we are under grace, we can’t wait around for some kind of imprimatur before our conduct changes. The cavalier attitude that many have toward sin must cease. Dietrich Bonhoeffer in his book "The Cost of Discipleship" describes what he calls "cheap grace". He said "Cheap grace is the preaching of forgiveness without requiring repentance, baptism without church discipline, Communion without confession. Cheap grace is grace without discipleship, grace without the cross, grace without Jesus Christ, living and incarnate." It’s a travesty that when a church has a special service to pray for this country we call it a spiritual awakening It’s also a travesty when a group of government officials sing in unison, God Bless America, we think our nation has returned to God.

What are we as a nation doing after the September 11th tragedy? The very same as we were prior to the September 11th tragedy. The only difference is we are now more in the draconian grip of the New World Order, and we are now more engulfed in the influent sewage stream of the ecumenical movement. Instead of falling on our knees we line up with the rest of the secular world. We may stand in the prayer line with our children on Sunday, but then line up on Sunday afternoon with our children to go see the most proclaimed occult movie of recent times "Harry Potter".

Yes, the shofar is blowing. It’s waxing louder and louder. It’s a desperate plea to experience true repentance. But is anyone listening?

Lessons From The Past

History screams out: learn the lessons from the past. God wants us to learn from what has already happened. The Apostle Paul writes: Now these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. 1 Corinthians 10:11

If we fail to use the compass history has given us we will become adrift in never ending seas. I am afraid Hagel was correct when he said "What experience and history teach is this: that people and governments never have learned anything from history, or acted on principles deduced from it." The Lord has recorded historical facts for us to learn and profit by – not ignore.

God Has Used Enemy Nations:

Woe to Assyria, the rod of My anger And the staff in whose hands is My indignation, I send it against a godless nation And commission it against the people of My fury To capture booty and to seize plunder, And to trample them down like mud in the streets.

Isaiah 10:5-6 NAS.

In other words an enemy nation is the rod the Lord used to punish His people. Yahweh will use our enemies to bring us to our knees. There is one account after another where God would bring Israel to their knees by the sword of their enemy.

Will the Lord use some Islamic nations to try to wake up His Church.? I would say a definite yes!

Lets make one thing emphatically clear - Islam is not the peaceful religion that the liberal news portrays it to be. Islam is an enemy to Israel, the United States and both Judaism and Christianity. I am not implying that there are not peaceful Muslims, there definitely are, but there are some that are not.

Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world. However, not all their flock are there by choice. In Indonesia more than 8,000 Christians have been forced to join Islam. Those who refused were either shot dead or beheaded. Approximately 10,000 Christians, mainly in Muluku Island have been murdered by the radical Muslims. I can assure you that the radical Muslims are not peace loving, but lovers of war - lovers of jihad.

Is God using the radical Muslim to get our attention? I would say a resounding yes!

History is compelling us to know the Lord. What do you think God was doing from the plagues in Egypt and the meanderings of the Israelites through the wilderness? He wasn’t only starting a nation, He wasn’t only leading His people out of bondage, but He wanted to be known as God. He wanted people to repent and turn to Him. Who is the Lord? This is the question that was asked by Pharaoh when Moses and Aaron told him the words of Yahweh: "Let My people go". Who is the Lord, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I know not the Lord, neither will I let Israel go. Exodus 5:2 KJV

This is what the Exodus is all about. Pharaoh didn’t know the Lord. The Egyptians didn’t know the Lord. Even the Sons of Israel didn’t know the Lord. The children of Israel may have known about the Lord but they didn’t know Him intimately. They didn’t even know who He was.

Philippians 3:10 is perhaps my favorite verse in the entire Word of God. Paul writes: That I may know Him, and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His suffering, being made conformable unto His death. KJV

If we really know Him - we will love Him and if we love Him we will obey Him.

Do we know Him? Does the Church at large know Him? Why is God judging the United States? It’s not just a wake up call in general, but an awakening call to the Church. When the Church does not know the Lord, how can we expect our nation too? The average churchgoer does not know the Lord any more than Pharaoh did when he talked with Moses and Aaron.

America’s enemies, the fanatical Islamic sects, in many ways have better morals than

the average so called Christians do in the American Church. Many Muslim regimes will not permit television from the West into their country. However, by the way of television we send signals of an amoral degenerate life style into homes across America. Most of these households will attend church on a regular basis.

MY WARNING

I have emphasized the point ad nauseam that I am not a prophet but a mere watchman. However, a watchman has his part too. In fact watchmen were even allowed to address the king as in 2 Samuel 18:24-27. Watchmen can also have awesome responsibility. But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand. Ezekiel 33:6 KJV

I must do what I do. I must write in the manner in which I write for I have no choice. Label me deceived or just plan insane, but I am compelled to carry on. With history behind me and God’s commandment before me, I must warn you to listen to the shofar. We are being judged. This country has stepped over the line. We have not only stepped over the line but we keep going deeper into sin and depravity. For years the American Church has had an imperceptible attitude toward this sea of sin and now we are drowning in it. When a nation does not repent, God can make Himself known in appalling ways.

I do not see pleasant days ahead. What I see are dark, horrid and appalling days. The United States will soon face a economic holocaust. I personally believe what we witnessed in New York and Washington are just the antecedents of much more to come. I believe America will experience some kind of nuclear attacks. This anthrax virus will be like a bad cold compared to Small Pox virus. I see a strong possibility of having an all out war with Islam along with Red China and Russia. We could be living in the time just prior to when one third of the world population will be killed. That will be a trumpet blast of horrendous consequences. And the four angels, who had been prepared for the hour and day and month and year, were released, so that they might kill a third of mankind. And the numbers of the armies of the horseman was two hundred million, I heard the number of them. Revelation 9:15-16 NAS

Folks, this is serious! Our present actions will have a galvanizing effect on how we deal with future events. We are finished as a nation if we do not repent and I do not see any signs of true repentance. This country has not bent her knee. The church has not grasped the meaning of the word holiness but is well acquainted with worldliness. Do you not hear the shofar? It is waxing louder and louder.

I know my message could be interpreted as harsh and cruel. Not all will hear me saying that I love you. Someone wrote in my Bible years ago when I was a young preacher: "I loved the people so little that I gave them what they wanted instead of what they

needed." Whether you receive it or not, this was written in love.

Lord, I pray You will set me free to become Your slave. A slave who loves his Master and yearns to obey Him. Lord, I dedicate myself totally to you and put myself entirely in your care. Sanctify me unto Yourself. Make me what You want me to be. Yes, I hear the shofar and I will obey.

Now may the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob bless you through His Son, Yeshua

In His service

We Are On The Web

We now have a web site. Our web site is

http://www.atrumpetinthewilderness.org At this time you have to type in all the letters or you cannot reach us. I would like to thank a young brother named Ryan whose help in creating our Web site is immeasurable. His service, the time he has given, and the equipment he has donated to this ministry is deeply appreciated. I am amazed how the Lord has used those brothers and sisters who are not necessarily in the established church to come to our aid.
