We  Are Back (01-21-15)

We are back with new zeal and perhaps new direction.

A new way to walk - A Cure for Depression (02-08-14)

I found a new way to have intercessory prayer. I am sure most of you have been doing this for years, but the prayer life, I mean the real and deeper prayer life has been only manifesting itself in my life for about a year and a half. Now I love to walk and while I have let several weeks’ laps without walking, I am back walking again.  Today, I walked in the mall. The mall has not my favorite place to walk, but as I walked I begin to pray for the individuals I saw.   I must have prayed for twenty people or so as the Holy Spirit instructed.  It was a much better walk than usual; It was a blessed walk and it was indeed a prayer walk. If you haven’t tried this, I suggest you so. It is a great way to pray for people and time will go by at an accelerated rate.

Singing (02-08-14)

I think it is so ironic that there is only one in the entire universe who loves to hear me sing and that is the One who created the universe. The lord loves to hear my “melodious” voice of praise. Believe me,  it is only melodious to Him. As you pray, be sure to praise Him in your prayers, even if your voice is a terrible as mine, for the Lord coverts the praise of His people. He will enjoy your singing as He does mine. What a mighty and loving God we serve!

When God does not appear to come through: ( 02-08-14)

When all the theological debates have faded into echoes in the darkened hallways of the Church, when all the religious veneer has been stripped away, when church lingo has muted into questions and curses, and raised hands and ethereal expressions have transmuted   into clinched fists and tormented faces, when once bodies prostrated in worship now lay in fetal positions on the floor, because they had no answers and defeat overtook them, where is God?

Tragedy will engender one of two things. Tragedy will make us better or make us bitter. It most certainly will always reveal what is already there, deep inside.   Tragedy can squeeze out what’s buried down deep. There is a word we need to bring into the forefront of this query about the whereabouts of God in the midst of tragedy.  The word is trust.  Job used it when he said: “Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him…”

Job 13:15 KJV

But when is trust really trust? When the situation is in line with our own theology? When one does not experience testing beyond the degree deemed necessary? When trust is tested beyond our own definition of trust?

Why do children die, old people lose their minds, spouses betray one another, little boys and girls get raped, buildings blow up, bridges collapse, and millions starve to death?

The answer is unsearchable. While many in the Church correctly answer:   Because we live in a fallen world, that answer does not soften the blow if you are the victim.

Yet only one answer remains for certain. The answer is: We don’t know! There is not a spiritual nostrum or panacea to all this. We don’t know why God seemingly does not come through on every occasion, but our response must be consistent despite our lack of understanding; our response must never change. We trust. We trust even when there’s nothing left but a weak and defeated scream.

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thy own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5 KJV

Our job is to trust.  But how? How can we trust with no will left – when nothing absolutely nothing is left? The answer is we can’t and we never could. The only thing we can do in our own strength is to curse God and die.  You see the victory is not necessarily the result of our prayer, but our response to His answer.  It takes grace to trust. It takes grace to have faith. Our first prayer is Lord I need Your grace. If we want to trust we first need to pray for grace to do so.  His job is to answer. Our job is to abide, and we cannot abide without His grace

We live in a world where satan has been unleashed. He may wear the mask of a malevolent Muslim or a pedophile Priest. He may have a three piece suit, or wear faded jeans. His face may take on different colors, sexes, and persuasions. He may have a face of an angel, but inside beats the heart of a beast. But he has been loosed and he is beguiling and destroying many.

Only when we learn to trust can victory be ours. Victory is not necessarily seeing the miracles manifesting themselves, although that will   happen in many cases, but victory is abiding even when we  no victories, even unto death. Victory is not always seeing the miracle, but to continue to trust even when the miracle does not occur.

At times it seems that the wicked prosper, yet tribulation comes to the just and unjust. The sun shines alike on the freshest and sweet smelling lilies and the foul reeking dung hills.

“For He causes His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the righteousness and the unrighteousness.”

Matthew 5:45 NAS

“In the day of prosperity be happy, but in the day of adversity consider God has made one as well as the other.”

Ecclesiastes 7:14 NAS

Yeshua (Jesus) said: “I will never leave you are forsake you. If you abide in Him He will abide in you.”

I read this poem and have about committed it to memory.

God has not promised

Skies always blue

Flower strewn pathways

All the way through

God has not promised

Sun without rain

Joy without sorrow

Peace without pain

But God has promised

Strength for the day

Rest for the labor

Light for the way

Grace for the trials

Help from above

Unfailing sympathy

Undying love.

Let me be as candid as I can. I am not very that smart mentally or spiritually! I plow with a shallow plow, but I have learned or better stated, I am learning a few things. I am learning to trust, to abide and to obey. I have a long ways to go, but as long as I stay in the pursuit of those things then I am on the right road. When we pursue those things we are pursuing after God Himself.

Just a thought:(02-08-14)

“The earth is utterly broken down, the earth is clean dissolved, and the earth is moved exceedingly. The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again.” Isaiah 24: 19-20

This earth is going to go through some very strategic changes – Will we be ready? I am not even going in this article to post my opinion on pre - trib or  post- trib. Many of you already know my view, but there is a war going on now, as I write this short article. It is a war with satan and his hordes of demons!

While satan is using many events, things, and individuals to splatter this earth with the grosses of evil, he is still the one instigating all the evil!

We had better decide to be the vanguard and speak out against evil at all cost. It was Dietrich Bonheoffer who said” The one who believes does not flee.”

There are many including pastors who are caught up in the entrapping of church traditions and monotony. They are in a quagmire of tedium and indifference. Others are caught up in a hyper-faith fiasco where emotions are their guide.  These and others are in their own pseudo-spiritual world of make believe.  The most important thing we can do, even before we get our eschatology correct, is to repent and recapture the meaning of holiness and righteous living.   We must recapture what it means to pray –I mean really pray!

Yeshua (Jesus) said “My house shall be called a house of prayer…”  We do almost anything in our churches but pray. I am finishing an article on prayer. Perhaps praying is the most single strategic action we can take. The levity in the church must cease, we must not falter! Maybe it is time to overturn some tables and to learn the true meaning of being salt and light to a world that is headed for destruction. Maybe it is time to learn to pray- I mean really pray!

My Book Review of a Great Book ( 01- 26-14)

When I was a very young Christian I would open my Bible to the New Testament and read all the words in red, because these were the words that Yeshua (Jesus) said. I have a book setting on by desk entitled: What Did Jesus Say…” written by Rev. Terry Alan Christian.

What our brother Terry has done is what I did, but only about a million times more in depth. He actually has compiled something akin to what Orville J. Nave did in 1896 which became known as Nave’s Topical Bible.

Many of you are familiar with “Nave’s Topical Bible” in which every major topic is listed and all the Bible verses pertaining to that verse are under that listing. It was and is a strategic tool in our Bible study. Rev. Christian has accomplished this same feat, by taking every word Jesus spoke and listing them in seven categories, topics, or as he calls them “messages”.

Rev. Christian has listed seven strategic teachings taught by our Master and then listed every verse that Jesus said about them.

When you read his dynamic and beautifully illustrated book you will have also read over 500 verses that Jesus spoke.

I have listed the messages and a brief description about each one.

1.     The Christ: In Jesus’s own words He proclaims who He is. He is the Messiah. He declares that He is the One who came down from heaven to do the Father’s will.

2.     The Father and the Son: In this message Jesus tells about His loving relationship with His father and instructs us how He loves and obeys his Father.

3.     The Word: In this message Jesus teaches us about the Word and all it encompasses

4.     I Am the Way, the Truth and the Life: Each of these messages are important because they are the very words of Jesus Himself, but perhaps this message may speak louder than the rest although each bellows out great truths. The fourth message describes how we are to live the true spiritual life. In this message the words of Jesus will direct us into the deeper walk of our Christian life and how to live in peace and harmony.

5.     The kingdom of Heaven: This, in my opinion, speaks as loud as any of the profound messages. In the fifth message Jesus not only teaches about heaven, but how some will not enter that glorious place. If we miss heaven, we have missed it all.

6.     The End Times: There is so much debate on the end times. In this message Jesus simply yet profoundly addresses the last days. Let the words of Jesus speak for themselves.

7.     The Holy Spirit: In this final message Jesus instructs us on the Holy Spirit and how to listen to Him and how He will guide us into all truth.

Each of these messages is absolutely true for they are the very words of Jesus.

Rev. Christian did not always walk with the Lord. He grew up with great adversity until at the age of 23 he had a life changing experience with Jesus Christ. Although I have never met this dear brother, I feel I know him personally. It is a little funny, even strange, how God unites brothers and sisters together. If you look at Brother Terry’s picture on Facebook or on the cover of his book and look at mine, we look very different, but it’s this Jesus that unites us. We do not have to agree on every doctrinal issue or dress or even look similar to be united in love.  I am delighted and honored to recommend this great book, “What Did Jesus Say…”, and it’s my prayer you will order your copy.

Brothers and sisters we are living in some very challenging times and the Holy Spirit is calling out a people who are committed to God. God's call to holiness is a call to Himself and I can think of no better way than to read the words that Jesus said and meditate on them.

Now may the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob bless you through His Son Yeshua.

Kerby Anderson's  Article About the  Persecution of Christians (01- 24-14)

As many of you are aware I have a great burden for the Persecuted Church not only  in he Middle East ,but  other parts of the world. Above this short article by Kerby Anderson is a caption that I am leaving up as long as I have a website or until the persecution ceases!

"Please in the Name of Yeshua pray for the Persecuted Church!"

The article below is well worth your time to read. I hope you will read the article by Kerby Anderson and then get involved however the Lord directs you.

Dear Jack,

Yesterday, I was privileged to have Rep. Frank Wolf as my guest on Point of View to talk about the persecution of Christians around the world and especially in the Middle East.  According to a report released by the Pew Forum, “nearly 70 percent of the world’s 6.8 billion people live in countries with high restrictions on religion, the brunt of which often falls on religious minorities.”

During the interview he talked about how the Jewish community in the US worked very hard to raise awareness about the persecution of Jews in the Soviet Union in the 70s.  He expressed concern about the lack of support we see today for Christians being persecuted, especially in the Middle East and South Central Asia.

His bill to create a special envoy within the State Department who would advocate on behalf of vulnerable religious minorities in these areas passed the House in September with a bipartisan vote of 402-22.  Because of pressure from the State Department and the Obama Administration, the bill is not moving forward in the Senate.

Please take a moment to contact both of your US Senators and urge them to support this legislation and to do all they can to see it brought up for a vote.  There is significant bipartisan support for the bill in the Senate and it will likely pass by a wide margin, perhaps making it veto proof.

This will only happen if Christians in this country will raise their voice to support their persecuted brothers and sisters around the world.  You can use our Take Action Central system to quickly send a message to both of your Senators.  It is a simple process that will only take a couple of minutes of your time.  Please stand up in defense of those who cannot defend themselves.

Sincerely in Christ,

Kerby Anderson, Host

How will you Spend Your day? (01-25-14)

I will close with a question of  title of this article. According to your faith will be your peace. Your faith will grow as it is washed in the Word and it will grow even more by the time you spend in the prayer chamber. I now understand why my personal growth has been sporadic over the years. I weep now not only over my past sins, but also because of so much wasted time. Why must I be pushing 67 years old and find out truths I should have been applying fifty years ago on regular basis. Here it is in 15 words - count them:  If you want to really know the Lord then you must spend time with Him.

A five minute daily Bible reading is not the answer, while it is a start, it will not lead you to a deep knowing of the Lord. Relationships must be worked on and quality and quantity  time must be spent for a relationship to grow. This is not always an easy task; in fact it may be one of the most difficult endeavors you have ever attempted. But without it you will be like an undernourished plant that produces little or no fruit. You will have enough “religion” to make you miserable.

I would like to issue my challenge for the third time. Turn off your television sets. My first two challenges were to turn it off for one week. I realize that may have been too strong of a challenge. May I suggest trying it for 48 hours? I believe television is a “gateway” tool satan uses to get us hooked on all kinds of sordid things. I know from which I speak. I have been quite transparent about my addictions, but because of His grace I am free from all sorts of bondage. Yet, I had to spend time with Him and I had to get rid of the static in my house. One of those things producing the static was television.

How will you spend your day? How will I spend mine? We all will have a different set of challenges, but we each need the same abiding presence of the Lord.

Now may the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob bless you through His Son Yeshua.

Humility and Holiness: (01-20-14)

One of the chief characteristic of a counterfeit holiness is the absence of true humility. Self and holiness cannot be as one, they cannot walk together, and they cannot even be in sight of one another. The Apostle Paul referred to himself as the least of all saints in Eph. 3:8

When we truly have humility we will walk also in holiness and perfect love. Perfect love forgets about itself and chooses to bless others.  When we become nothing we then are ready for major molding to really begin to take place in God’s mighty hand.  We must be crucified so our spirit may live.

So much of what we hear on television and even in our churches is in complete contradiction to what the Christian is all about. Let us draw near the cross and abide in Yeshua and trust Him every second of every day.

Now may the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob bless you through His Son Yeshua.

In His Service,

Jack Hunter

I Have Learned Only A Few Spiritual Truths (01-20-14)

There are perhaps only a few spiritual truths I have learned over the years, two for certain.  One is God wants to be God in our lives and two He wants us to know Him - I mean really know Him!

Be warned!  He is about to introduce Himself! He is about to make Himself known to this nation and the world. We are told in Hebrews that He will not only shake te earth but the heaven also.

History is compelling us, it is screaming out to us, to know the Lord. What do you think God was doing from the plagues in Egypt and the meanderings of the Israelites through the wilderness? He wasn’t only starting a nation, He wasn’t only leading His people out of bondage, but He wanted to be known as God. He wanted people to repent and turn to Him. Who is the Lord? This is the question that was asked by Pharaoh when Moses and Aaron told him the words of Yahweh: "Let My people go"

“Who is the Lord that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I know not the Lord; neither will I let Israel go.” Exodus 5:2 KJV

This is what the Exodus is all about. Pharaoh didn’t know the Lord. The Egyptians didn’t know the Lord. Even the Sons of Israel didn’t know the Lord. The children of Israel may have known about the Lord but they didn’t know Him intimately. They didn’t even know who He was.

Today, the main-stream church is full of people who know about God, but they are clothed with their pseudo theology, instead of His righteousness! One day to their horror, they will debate their theology in hell. Why? Because they never knew the Lord!

Philippians 3:10 is perhaps my favorite verse in the entire Word of God. Paul writes:  “That I may know Him, and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His suffering, being made conformable unto His death.”KJV

If we really knew Him - we will love Him and if we loved Him we would obey Him and if we obeyed Him we will be a holy people.

Would it Preach Today? ( 01-15 -14 )

I often visit Christian book stores, in fact today I’m  going to visit one and buy a CD of worship music and two books I had ordered by the late Roy Hession. I read a lot of books, I love to read. When I am in the Christian book store I find myself drawn to the same very small section of “Christian Classics” I wonder if the writers of long ago would sale a single book today? I question if the topics they wrote about would be preached form the pulpits of today’s church.  I read a lot of Andrew Murray. I first became aware of Andrew Murray because he was quoted by Watchman Nea, who by the way died for his faith in communist prison camp in China in 1972. Murrey quoted a man by the name of William Law who lived form 1686-1761. Each of these men had a spiritual thread that linked them all together. It was death to self. It was holiness and humility.  It was a complete denial to self and a   life completely  devoted to God in every single aspect of our lives.

The following are a few words by William Law regarding prayer and humility form his book “A Serious Call to a Devout and Holy Life”

What if these were sermon topics in the average church today?

1.       That you may have no thoughts, desires, or designs, but as are the true fruits of a humble, meek, and lowly heart.

2.       That you may always appear poor, little, and lowly in your own eyes, and fully content that others should have the same opinion of you.

3.       That the whole course of your life, your expense, home, dress, your manner of eating, drinking, conversing, and doing everything may be so many continual proofs of the true sincere humility of your heart.

4.       That you may go through all the actions and circumstances of life, calmly and quietly, as in the presence of God, looking  wholly unto Him, acting wholly for Him.

5.       That you neither seek vain applause, nor resent neglect or affronts, but do and receive everything in the gentle and humble spirit of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

William Law in my opinion was great written, but I ask again: What if the aforementioned were sermon topics? Would they preach today?  I dare say that if the pastor would preach them, he may be looking for another job!  We must never  forget  that the Christian life  is about denying self and not exalting it. Would William Law and others like him be able to be pastor in any main-line church today? I think not!

Now may the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob bless you through His Son Yeshua.

Be Careful Little Eyes What You See  ( 01-13-14) (a short article on Pornography)

How many of us remember that little song? It goes something like, “Oh be careful little eyes what you see, Oh be careful little eyes what you see because the Father up above, is watching down with love, Oh be careful little eyes what you see.”  That may be simple but it’s a very accurate and beneficial little song. Perhaps we need to sing this song in our worship service and memorize it.  Perhaps we should pray it with all the faith we have!

Pornography is the rope that has hung millions, it’s the knife that has slashed their throats, and it’s the venom in their drink. It’s the albatross that seemingly cannot be removed. We have reached for a luring attraction and grabbed a hold of a viper.  Perhaps pornography will prove to be satan’s most destructive tool.

I know too well this sin of pornography, for I have been guilty of embracing it myself. I know what porn is all about: – the thrill, then the guilt, and then the separation from any kind of fellowship with Yeshua (Jesus) who gave up His very life for me. It is a cycle that never seems to end, but it can be broken!!

It did not happen overnight, but I am porn free! How? I focused and I keep focusing on Yeshua! (Jesus)

First is confession, making no excuses, blame no one but, yourself! Ask forgiveness and really mean it. Take necessary action even get rid of your computer if need be, then your focus must be on Christ and Him alone. When thoughts come and they will, call upon Him. This may sound strange to some of you, but if I go past five minutes without some kind of prayer the devil can gain a foot hold. Paul said “Pray without ceasing”

We must focus on Yeshua and not the sin. We must spend time with the Father on our knees. I have found great victory through my time spent with the Lord. I have found victory over any and all temptation through time spent with the Master! How much victory I have over sin is based on how many hours I spend alone with God!

We as believers must do all we can to shut the floodgate of such sin as pornography,  but we better make sure we are not doing it with hypocritical hands. The church must be the paradigm; she must be the mirror for the world to see the reflection of Christ. The problem is that many church members and their pastors are held captive by this gross sin.

Job made a covenant with his eyes. (Job: 31:1).

The computer   may be the new evil kid on the block,   but his big brother,   television can be just as evil. We are again too busy filling our minds with everything from junk (dumbing down programs) to outright garbage.

Television alone has been satan's weapon since its invention in 1927 in San Francisco. Why am I not surprised TV started in San Francisco?

I challenge you: Try to turn your set off for one week. See if you are not already a prisoner by the one-eyed monster from hell!

I would invite any man who is having problems with porn to message me and we can pray. We all need accountability partners. I have found victory - you can also. Start now and confess that sin and give it to the lord. Believe He and He alone can deliver you. Please do not be too proud to admit you have a problem, for by not doing so will only feed the monster that has you captive.

“Oh be careful little eyes what you see, Oh be careful little eyes what you see because the Father up above, is watching down with love, Oh be careful little eyes what you see.”

Now may the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob bless you through His Son Yeshua.

Please Pray: (01-02-14)

It seems strange writing out 01- 02 - 14 - it will take some getting use to. I want to encourage you to begin this year with prayer. I can't wait to start my morning watch with communication with the Father. I put my favorite CD on "Voice in the Wind" by Chuck Girard and just wait on the Holy Spirit. Please in the Name of Yeshua get time with Him this year. You need nothing, but private time. CD's are a wonderful benefit, but all you need to do is to wait on the Lord and fellowship with Him. Prayer is the most important thing you can do this year - I beseech you to spend time with God this year.

New Paths: (12-28-13)

As we grow in the Lord we find new paths that have yet to be walked. I have been praying for years, but I am finding new paths in my prayer life I have never trod. Among other things, I have begun to meditate and just being still before the Lord. The early mornings are the best time for me. Below is my verse of medication.

"In the morning, O lord, You will hear my voice; In the morning I will order my prayer to You and eagerly watch.   "Psalm 5:3

I urge you to fine special with the Father and communicate with Him, for He longs to communicate wit you.

There is a Thin Line: (12-26-13 )

There is a thin line between fear and concern and while that line may be thin it is most important. Many can be shackled with fear and are indeed paralyzed by it, others are concerned or better stated, walk in discernment, and therefore many of them live in victory.

But fear can have a positive realm, it can connote that something is wrong and in the case of this nation and the world something is dreadfully wrong.

Many in the church are neither fearful nor concerned; they are basically deaf and blind when it comes to the horrific events that not only await them, but are taking place directly in front of them. Many believers and non-believers alike are so caught up in the mundane, in the “rat race”, they are not aware that they are the rats! They’re the rats   caught in the trap, still nibbling at the cheese and are already dead and do not even know it!

We had better get on the vanguard and speak out against evil at ALL cost. It was Dietrich Bonheoffer who said” The one who believes does not flee.”

There are many, including pastors who are caught up in the entrapping of church traditions and monotony.

The levity must cease, we must not falter! Maybe it’s time learn the true meaning of being salt and light to a world that is headed for destruction.

Perhaps it is time to know the difference between fear and concern and the get real! Now is the time to get concern - now is the time to repent-now is the time to get real and stand like a tree planted by streams of water! We must stand in the face of evil and life up the Holy name of Yeshua to a lost and dying world!

Now may the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob bless you through His Son Yeshua.

Choices ( 12-26-13)

I think it is impossible to ever know how many choices the average person makes per day, but one study out of Minnesota suggested the average person makes at least 30,000 choices each day.

The Bible is bursting with example after example of choices.

Eve chose to believe satan and eat the forbidden fruit.

Adam chose to listen to his wife and chose not to obey a direct order from God. Lot chose to live in Sodom which cost him dearly. Lot’s wife chose to look back toward Sodom which cost her her life.

Esau chose to sell Jacob his birth right for a pot of lentil   soup. These are just a few in Genesis alone. What choices are you aking?

One of the most gifted country singers who ever lived, the late George Jones, who admitted that he  had made many wrong choices  made a recording and a video   entitled “Choices”. In the video there are scenes of his arrest for a DWI and the tree he hit when he was drunk. The key line in the entire song is “living and dying with the choices I’ve made”.  As a country we are living and dying with the choices we have made and are making, and it’s those choices that will bury us in the pride from which they came.

My greatest and most devastating defeats have started every time with pride. I choose to obey me instead of God. I choose my desires over His will. My sins were more important than my obedience to God! I chose my will, my sin, my desires over His word, His law, and His will! Some of those choices have cost me dearly including perhaps permanently damaging my children.

The levity must cease I our main-lined Churches! Our pusillanimous attitude toward holy and righteous living must end and now! If we are not willing to die for the Lord we are already dead in our sins!!!I believe as the church , so goes the nation! The church should be the vanguard, not a following the pied piper of the world, marching to its drum beat. My question is this: Must we inexorably follow the same perverted and demented path that other nations have followed before they fell from within? We must never forget that moral rot along with evil political choices will cause the collapse of a nation. If we compromise in smaller things we will easily compromise in larger matters. Jerry Garcia, of all people, made a strong and true statement: “Choosing the lesser of two evils is still evil”. What can we do? We may not change the direction we are going as a country, but you can change the direction you are going as a person.  Choose to follow Yeshua (Jesus) now!

Begin to make every choice directed by the Holy Spirit of God. Above all, make sure you really are a Christian and not a product of wrong Church doctrine! Make sure you believe; I mean really believe! The demons believe so much they tremble! If you believe practice obedience, not sin!  Obey Him in in everything! You start with  with water baptism and go from there! Simply follow Him day by day, as you die to self!  Indeed you are saved by grace through faith but your works will prove if you have faith or not! When you are really saved you become His son and His faithful slave, but you will not be a slave to sin – you will not practice sin! How can we trample His grace and His blood on the ground by our love of sin? We are where we are today because of our choices, which are indeed damning and they are indeed our own.

How Sin Can Creep In (12-14-13)

The article below is part of our newsletter that soon will be posted.

In November of 2012, I had a three day stay in a local hospital and it was life changing.  I was very ill physically and spiritually bankrupt. They tried to diagnose me with COPD. My breathing was greatly compromised and my strength was almost diminished.   Spiritually, I was in a state of mundaneness and status quo, and that is like unto being spiritually impotent.

I am not sure what happened, but physically I made a complete turnaround. To this day I have never felt better. Spiritually, I experienced a revival more than I had in years. I not only lost weight but grew in the Lord. It was one of the more blessed spiritual experiences I have had in years!

I wanted to just obey the Lord! One of the more challenging areas in my life has been to reach out to others, because rejection is always there, lifting up its ugly head and saying “here I am.” But, I decided to reach out! I started with you on the mailing list and then my male in-laws. Now, I am not really that close to my male in-laws and I assume all the blame for that.

I decided to make a transmutation in our relationships. I wrote a letter to each of my male in-laws, about 15 in all, and just shared what was on my heart. I received no responses. I also requested feedback from newsletter recipients and out of over 100 people I did not receive one response. But I didn't stop there. I believed the Lord wanted me to invite two or three men over to begin a men's prayer gathering. I contacted several and again nothing!

Now, for the spiritual lesson. Revival has to be maintained day by day. Sin can creep in if the smallest crack in the door is open!  Sin does not have to be gross or horrendous; it can come in as almost innocent.   Hurt can cause sin to get a foothold. Revival has to be maintained day by day. If I had only stopped and given all this to the Lord I believe my spiritual revival would have continued and my walk would have not gone awry! It is simple; do not let the sun go down on our wrath. Hurt is often a type of anger. That experience was indeed the catalyst for about five months of decline. In no way do I blame my in-laws, they are good men. I blame no one on the mailing list for I am honored to even send a newsletter to you.  I blame myself!

We are to lay down our lives for our fellow man and that includes in-laws, family members, friends, and even enemies. Today, I have found an even deeper prayer life, and an even more precious walk, but that walk has to be maintained, not only day by day, but moment by moment. I am serious – I mean every few seconds sin can creep in and one day you look up and ask: “How did I get here?”

We must remain transparent and love regardless if it is returned or not. Sin is creeping at the door and the only way to keep that door shut is to abide day by day and moment by moment.  Yeshua talks a lot about abiding especially in the 15th Chapter of John’s Gospel. We must, we must abide in the Vine!

Now may the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob bless you through His Son Yeshua.

In His Service,

Jack Hunter

Only One Umbrella (12-13-12)

I am attempting to be as transparent as I possibly can. I am now under no umbrella save the Umbrella of Yeshua, the Lord Jesus Christ.  While I believe we should observe the Biblical Holidays, and while I believe we should keep the law, that by no way saves us! Many in the main-line church miss out on a deep and spiritual blessing by not keeping the Biblical Holidays - they fail to see that they point to Yeshua.

Yet, there can be a grave danger to have a little head knowledge and miss God altogether. I used to gather with some in the Messianic movement. There are so many good and spiritual people in that group that I am not even worthy to fellowship with them. However, like in many group there are some who base their righteousness on what they do and some even make salvation a work! Instead of work being the result of your salvation, they base their salvation on what they do. The Biblical fest do not save you, keeping the law does not save you, but it's your faith in Yeshua that saves you

I am no longer under any umbrella, save the Umbrella of Yeshua our Messiah –the Lord Jesus Christ.  I will not be in bondage, but free in Christ Jesus. I believe He sets us free to become slaves! All I want to do is to serve and I have such a long way to go. At best I'm at the crawling stage. I pray for each of you and I thank God for all my friends on Facebook!

Now, may the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob bless you through His Son Yeshua.

In His Service,

Jack Hunter

Changes? More Activity for Certain:  (12-12-13)

You  may  see some changes taking place on the website, but you will certainly see more activity. In November of 2012 a significant  change occurred in my life physically after a three day stay at a local hospital,  but more importantly a profound change occurred spiritually as well, which was more significant! However after a few months, I allowed things to slither in and my peace and joy were  somewhat diminished, especially spiritually. However, another revival has manifested itself in my life which started this November. I have learned this: It is extremely important to immediately confess your sins  no matter how banal, and trite they may appear to you – because NO  sin is banal or trite! I thank God for each of you who read our newsletter and our next one will be posted in a few days.

ANNOUNCEMENT: (12-03-13)
I am still very much alive, as of now that is, and I have been writing a lot on Facebook. Please check out if you are familiar  with Facebook. I think, but not sure you can type in - when I find out how I will post it. I have a newsletter underway and I will be posting more articles. Remember we are under judgment and we must rediscover really how to pray. Feel free to email me as the Lord leads.
Take a Look at Trumpet Blast From Others (06-08-13)
I’ve always thought I have the temperament of a good writer, but just without the talent. For a number of years I have filled garbage can after garbage can with half written articles, and when I do put them on our website or in our newsletter I don’t think that many bother to read them. While they may fall well below “meets standards”, I am still trying to do my part, as minute as it may be. However, I have been blessed by reading articles from those individuals who have the God-given profound ability to write well and communicate their thoughts with keen Biblical insights. On our website I have a webpage entitled “Trumpet Blast from Others”. There are a lot of great articles on this page written by mostly unknown individuals, and the majority of them communicate a lot of deep and profound spiritual insights. I even have one posted by a brother you have probably read on Facebook and whom I have a lot of respect for - Timothy LaVigne. If you have a minute, please go to our website www.atrumpetinthewilderness.org and then click on “Trumpet Blast From Others” – I know you will be blessed by reading these articles from mostly unknown writers, and in my opinion the writers possess the innate ability that any published author has!

 Torah: Why Study It?

Several months ago I was visiting with a Christian businessman and I eagerly informed him I was embarking on a Torah study.  He folded his arms and said: “Oh you're under law are you?"  Is one under law because one studies Torah?  Why study Torah anyway?

I submit to you that without the Torah we will continually be searching for our roots.  Without the Torah we are building a house with no foundation.  Many believers have taken the New Testament and tried to understand Moses and his writings when we should take the writings of Moses to understand Yeshua and the New Testament.

While many think Torah is law they fail to realize that Torah is more than law but a divine set of instructions for our very life so we can walk humbly before God and our fellow man.

There are basically four areas of study of Torah.

1.   The P’SHAT: Is the plain sense of the text. An explanation written by Moses of how Israel came to be a   nation and th elaws of that nation.

2.    DRASH: Is the homiletic, study, sermon part of the text.

3.    REMEZ:  Is the hidden, esoteric, deeper meaning, or secret part of the text.

4.    SOD: Is the mysterious part of the text. This is even goes deeper than the Remez.

I urge you to read the Torah as well as all scripture.

 All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;

So that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.  2 Timothy: 3: 16, 17

For if you believed Moses, you would have believed Me, for he wrote about Me.

But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words. John 5: 46-47.

I have the Torah Cycle on our Website.   I hope you will click on this section and also the link that accompanies it.  The link to Lion and Lamb Ministries will give you much more information than I ever could.  I believe as you embark on the study of Torah you will find a stronger and better set of glasses to see Yeshua in a deeper way.

…and trying to persuade them of Yeshua, from both the law of Moses and prophets, from morning to early evening. Acts 28:23

I trust as you will embark on studying Torah you will discover all the truths the Holy Spirit of God whishes to reveal to you.
